IAAA ISEI Project

ISEI (IAAA STEAM Educational Initiative) is developing as a collaborative educational platform produced by the membership of the International Association of Astronomical Artists, to integrate space sciences with the arts, within STEAM education.

ISEI provides a Guide and Resources for teachers and students of Space Art, with teaching materials provided by our artists; mentorship interviews, visual art methods and resources accompanying each Chapter topic, enhancing the Art's inherent attributes of flexible thinking and problem-solving with learning in astronomy and related disciplines.

The platform’s success depends on the active involvement of our artists who contribute their unique skills and perspectives, growing a collective body of knowledge that strengthens the integration of art and science in space-focused education.

ISEI is currently available to the IAAA membership, as it grows and develops with their contributions.

ISEI embraces accessibility and diversity as core principles. The initiative showcased at IAU CAP 2024 and SciAccess 2024 and aligned with the IAU CAP Inclusive Astronomy Communication Working Group, supports inclusive, equitable, and innovative approaches to astronomy communication and education, complemented by a CAP working group focused on discussion, research, and practice in public engagement with astronomy, and sharing values with SciAccess, an international initiative promoting disability inclusion and diversity in STEM.
