MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

The IAAA offers four levels of paid membership. All levels provide access to IAAA activities including workshops and the IAAA online member forums with the exception that Student members are not eligible to participate in IAAA exhibitions.

ARTIST

Artist level is granted to applicants who provide five samples of their work that meet with approval by the IAAA and payment of one year's annual dues of $51.00 USD.

ARTIST APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Send an email to the Director of Membership containing:
    • Five (5) samples of your work, no larger than 300kb each;
    • A statement telling us about yourself;
    • A statement of intent (what you wish to accomplish as a space artist);

  2. Pay the first year's dues of $51.00 USD *

Once your email and payment are received your work will be judged by a jury of senior IAAA members. You will receive an answer regarding membership within a few days.

JOURNEYMAN

If you create space art, but do not yet want to be considered for full Artist membership, you can apply as a Journeyman. Journeyman membership is intended for artists whose primary focus may not be space art; they may be prolific in other subject matters and are recently entering the space art arena, or are just starting out as space artists and would like to discuss and learn the craft from some of our more seasoned members. Journeyman members may later apply to be upgraded to Artist.

JOURNEYMAN APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Send an email to the Director of Membership containing:
    • Five (5) samples of your work, no larger than 300kb each;
    • A statement telling us about yourself;
    • A statement of intent (what you wish to accomplish as a space artist);

  2. Pay the first year's dues of $46.00 USD *

    Once your email and payment are received your work will be judged by a jury of senior IAAA members. You will receive an answer regarding membership within a few days.

    ASSOCIATE

    The Associate level is appropriate for collectors, publishers, museum curators or staff, gallery owners and astronomical/aerospace art enthusiasts who may not be artists themselves.

    ASSOCIATE APPLICATION PROCEDURE

    1. Send an email to the Director of Membership expressing your interest in becoming an IAAA Associate member;

    2. Pay the first year's dues of $41.00 USD

    STUDENT

    Full-time students may apply for membership while in high-school or college. Student members may not participate in IAAA exhibitions or hold office, but may participate in other IAAA activities such as the IAAA member forum and workshops. Members may remain at the Student rate so long as they remain full-time students.
