Space Artist Of The Quarter December 2025 - Earl Billick
Artist Bio
Earl Billick was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona during the golden era of the space race. His artistic interests were greatly influenced by the constant presence of amazing aircraft in the local skies flying in and out of the nearby Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and the fresh excitement of the space program. This invoked in him a lifelong passion for space and aircraft. Later, his artistic vision was further expanded by the cutting edge astronomy sciences being undertaken at the University of Arizona and at the nearby Kitt Peak National observatory. Earl is also an avid reader and he developed an imagination and an appreciation for not just what is, but what might be. His art is often inspired by works of authors such as Arthur C. Clarke, Carl Sagan, Stephen Hawking, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Isaac Asimov.
Earl is an award winning traditional and self-taught artist. He captures and combines in his art a vision reflecting his love for space and aerospace. As an Artist member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA) he strives to promote interest in space science and in space exploration through his artistic endeavors. Earl’s work can be seen in several publications and has been displayed at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, Flandrau Science Center, and Biosphere 2, and at the Pima Air and Space Museum.
