PURPOSE

As a non-profit foundation, the IAAA implements and participates in astronomical and space art projects, promotes education about astronomical art, and fosters international cooperation in artistic work inspired by the exploration of the Universe. Science and art expand the human mind and soul and should be supported for the betterment of us all. The mind and imagination of the artist can go where cameras cannot (yet!).

Founded in 1982, the International Association of Astronomical Artists is the world’s only guild of artists dedicated to creating images of space. We paint, draw, sculpt, blow glass, and move pixels to show galaxies, stars, planets, moons, anywhere that the imagination can go.
