Watercolor, ink and pearlescent watercolor on cotton, 12″x16″.
This is a playful depiction of DART impacting Dimorphos, who was quite shocked! I had the idea back in October, and I’ve been working on this for the past several weeks. Inspired by the 1902 short film, “Le Voyage dans la Lune”—I can’t explain why my brain went there, it just did. I studied some examples of Art Nouveau typography and hand-lettered the poster, inked the outlines but painted everything else.
