About 1,500 light years away, IC 405 is billowing interstellar clouds of gas and dust, and the region seems to harbor smoke, although there is no fire. The bright star AE Aurigae is so hot it is blue. I enjoyed painting this, using semi-transparent paints.

Born in 1944 in Washington, D.C., I have painted and sculpted most of my life. At 74 years of age, I feel I am at my most creative time of life. I started painting a series of "Nebula Art" in 2015 after seeing the Hubble Space Telescope images. I find so much joy in attempting to capture these beautiful photographs. I live now in Naples, Florida, and have 18 completed paintings so far and will continue to paint as long as I am able. I studied art and sculpture at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.; painting and sculpture at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Va. I have taken art classes in my community of Pelican Bay. Exhibition include Swiss Embassy, Torpedo Factory, Pelican Bay Community Center, Naples Art Association and Rookery Bay
