Last week I came across a NASA item saying that Perseverance may encounter a dust storm (quite common on Mars) and may attract ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’, a form of lightning, though not as dangerous – it used to form around the masts of sailing ships, leading to superstitions that it was a bad omen. . . However, the article said that the rover is shielded and would not be damaged.
