Spectrum World Necklace – my latest necklace design. I hand made all of the rainbow spacer beads as well as the water world focal bead using an oxy-con torch. The focal bead features polar caps, oceans, land, and clouds. Beads are spaced with clear Swarovski bicones and sterling silver spacers. I also handmade the pure silver toggle and bar claps (which is not shown) using PMC clay. It has taken me just over 18 months to make this necklace – both of the UK Covid lockdowns meant that there were months where I couldn’t access the torching workshop. It took over six months just to make all of the rainbow coloured spacing beads, and almost the same again to design and create the water world pendant with lots of trial and error. I’m really delighted to have successfully completed this necklace. I even have enough of my hand made glass beads and focal beads to make at least another similar necklace.
