Encaustic on Birch
I received this piece of wood from an artist who was moving out of their studio, just as I was moving into mine. At the time I didn’t know what I was going to paint on it, but as an encaustic painter I am always on the hunt for good wood panels. One day, hungry and craving pizza, I looked over at this unique wood shape and started painting space dust…then I went and got pizza.
