Acrylic on box canvas. 18×24 inches (45.7x61cms). Painted in my circles style, a shuttle launching in silhouette against a lowering sky. The background behind the circles has been painted in cobalt blue, to balance the varying shades of grey in the sky. Whereas the rocket exhaust and steam plumb has been painted on a background of mid grey which contrasts nicely with the yellows and browns – this is the first time that I’ve used two different colours in a background.
