“Night Shuttle”

My intent was to create a pointillist piece portraying the stark contrast between the night sky and the light created by the Space Shuttle’s three RS-25 main engines and two solid rocket boosters. The shuttle stack portrayed is a conglomeration from three different shuttle missions that were launched at night, hence, no name; however, it does hint at one shuttle in particular… This 10” x 12” piece was created using 0.4mm, 0.3mm, and 0.25mm watercolor, acrylic, india ink, and gel pens/drafting pens as well as white acrylic paint on illustration board.
