Some pans of hand made watercolours arrived just in the nick of time for me to use at the Mars to Humans Exhibit at the Royal Society’s 2023 Summer of Science Exhibition. As I’d never used them before I thought I’d better give them a test drive first. As I shall be painting Martian landscapes (live, throughout the five days of the exhibition) that’s what I created. The watercolours were an absolute delight to use, providing a lovely Mars colour palette and the darker colours giving an amazingly gritty look, yet with a smooth texture on the paper.
