Interglacial

A terrestrial planet, squarely in the frigid grip of an ice age, slowly emerges from a glacial period as equatorial heating begins to melt the ice and expose the oceans beneath to the rejuvenating light of its sun. Elsewhere on the planet, volcanic forces punch through the thick glaciers and create large swaths of new earth; gradually returning life to this long-entombed alien world.
