4k UHD Anniversary Livery Soyuz Rocket!

This is the anniversary version of the venerable Soyuz rocket. At the time of writing this, it launches in an hour or so!

The colours were changed in honour of the 60th Anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s fli8ght, the first time a man flew in space.

It’s not a copy – the original certainly didn’t have blue sections! But the white is a reference to the ice that formed on the hull.

For the payload fairings, I have yet to see clear pictures of the logo’s used, so I picked two that worked well to my eye. The round version of the “Glavcosmos” logo, and a mission patch type design showing Yuri himself.

I studied astronomy at University College London, but failed to get my degree. For many years pre-internet, I ran the bulletin board "Starbase 1", which is why you will frequently see me referring to myself as that! I was on the board of the IAAA. I operate exclusively in digital formats using many different software packages. Most often Lightwave 3d, Vue, Gaea, and Affinity Photo. I also enjoy oddball graphics packages like Xenodream, Amberlight, and others.

I'm particularly interested in the early Soviet space program, and I have served as a consultant on that subject.
