Last year Ron Miller’s excellent book ‘Spaceships’ was published by Smithsonian Books. Rather to my surprise, the publishers of the French edition chose a different jacket/cover from the well-known Bonestell painting of a ‘ferry rocket’ going into orbit; instead they used my 1956 painting of a ferry rocket blasting off. This is without doubt the ‘oldest’ work of mine to be used on a modern cover — 60 years on!!
