On 15 September 2017 the amazing Cassini probe will be allowed to dive into Saturn’s atmosphere, in order not to contaminate any of the moons. And 14 years ago, on September 21 2003, the Galileo probe at Jupiter ended its mission in exactly the same way. This was my impression of it at the time. . .
