‘Bhindi’ is part of my current series of Saturnian portraits, and was sold during the recent exhibition, ‘Eclipse’ at Sivarulrasa Gallery in Almonte, Ontario. The new owner is a 92 year old art collector who owns works by several well-known Canadian artists. As far as I know, ‘Bhindi’* is the only planetary piece in her possession. * a bhindi is the red dot sometimes seen on the forehead of Hindu women. In this case, it’s the moon on the lower part of the face of Saturn. I think of it as being Enceladus, although it isn’t shown in exact proportion.
